Welcome to the campaign to secure the future of our 'Outstanding School'

We are now supported by the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority and the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust

Our aim is to ultimately keep the school open for ever, not to be the generation that let it close.

We are so pleased to have been able to say a huge warm welcome to our new Head, Mr Bishop and our two new Teachers, Mrs Dent and Mrs Harper.

Our strategy is to target the key stakeholders both locally and nationally to discharge their duties with reference to their stated policies which are applicable to our school, examples of which are:

  • The Yorkshire Dales National Park is specifically tasked with “to seek to foster the economic and social well-being of local communities within the National Park”. ....  this is reinforced by very supportive letter from from Carl Lis, Chairman YDNPA to Cllr Arthur Barker, Executive Member for Education, North Yorkshire County Council
  • Minister Justine Greening; Quote "My department will work with local authorities, education and skills providers, businesses, and the wider community, not just to focus on what we can do to help inside schools, but also create the opportunities outside school that raise sights and broaden horizons for young people...." our school is surely a perfect example of this.

More than just a school
